No place

Due to a technical error, my chili didn't stand up well with the judges. Lots of 10s, but just enough 3s and 4s to knock me out of the running. Next time, I shall heat it in some way or another!

I just had a chili omelette for breakfast. Maybe that's gross, but I don't care!

Ms. Smith--I've got 2.5 cups of the chili in the freezer for you.

I'll post the recipe tonight or tomorrow. For now, we've got to smoke some meat and clean some house. 8 lbs of pork shoulder, Cuban black beans, and roasted sweet potatoes with cumin and butter. Lots of butter.

1. You rule!

2. That sounds so freakin good I want it for breakfast. And lunch. And dinner. I might need to go buy sweet potatoes this afternoon or something (although the 8 pounds of pork shoulder will probably need to wait until I have a guest). :)

i think the black beans will definitely use up the rest of the gorgonzola! YUM.

Technical error?

yeah. it wasn't hot, as in temperature. we thought it would be easier to transfer the chili by crockpot, so, we dumped it from its stockpot to a crockpot after it had sat for a couple of days in the fridge... once at the competition ( a friend's house), we plugged that bad boy in and set it to HIGH. by the time we were ready to go, the chili was only lukewarm. oh well. it was still good, cold or not!
